Power Grids:
Category: Getting Started
Material: OBSERVER
Description: Most devices need a power grid to draw power from! The power pylon creates a power grid! But the power pylon doesn't make power!
You need a power generator to make power for your power grid! This is why we crafted combustion generators! They can provide power to the power grid!
Power grids from power pylons are not huge. But you can link power pylons together to create a larger power grid!

###Basic Concepts###
Movers:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: DROPPER
Description: Movers are super important, they can move items from containers like
chests and furnaces, to belts, lifts and other devices.
Grabbers:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: DROPPER
Description: Movers that have their back face towards a belt will grab off that
belt if it is motorized and has items on the belt. It will grab from whichever
side is closer unless both sides of the belt face into the mover. Movers in
this setup are called grabbers. Grabbers with levers above them will grab from
both sides regardless of which side is closer.
Premium Entry Only: false
Inserters:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: DROPPER
Description: Movers that have their face towards a belt are called inserters if
they are not motorized. The belts will insert their item onto the belt if there
isn't an item there already. It can only insert into the side of the belt that
is closer. However, you can use a lever above this to allow it to insert onto
both sides.

Auto Miner:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: GRANITE_SLAB
Description: An auto miner is a powerful device. On its own it isn't very useful.
You’ll need to support its output. Crushing all of its stone down into sand
is useful with sifters for getting early iron and gold. Stone is also needed
to make movers for logistic science packs.
Premium Entry Only: false
Deep Drills:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: ANDESITE_SLAB
Description: Deep drills are mid-game miners. They require a lot of tech to work
properly and use lubricant. They are ideal for extracting large amounts of a
specific resource like iron or copper.
Premium Entry Only: false
BAAA!:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: WHITE_WOOL
Description: A nice early-game factory is an auto carpet crafting factory. You
just need an auto shearer near some sheep, move the wool into a crafter to make
carpet, and then move the carpet into a chest using a mover. You’ll need to
occasionally supply shears. You need carpet for belts!
Premium Entry Only: false
Automation:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: LOOM
Description: This might sound obvious, but automation is very important for progressing
at a reasonable rate. If you're stuck, look for tasks you can automate like
crafting, moving items, or traveling. Sometimes slowing down speeds you up.
Premium Entry Only: false
Need for Speed:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: SMOOTH_STONE
Description: Smooth stone and concrete increase player movement speed. While the
boost is small, it saves time in large factories. Consider building pathways—concrete
is twice as fast as smooth stone!
Premium Entry Only: false
Trains!:
Category: Basic Concepts
Material: CHEST_MINECART
Description: Train stations are the holy grail of item transport. Use them to
move stacks of items from faraway places. Rather than building factories on
resource sites, train the resources into a centralized processing factory.
Premium Entry Only: false
Devices Strong Together:
Category: Basic Concepts

###Advanced Mechanics###
Ratios:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: DIAMOND
Description: A lot of devices when used together have ratios at which they can
work in harmony together. For example, a water pump can produce up to 100 water
per action which happens in 3 seconds—so 33 water per second. A boiler uses
30 water per action, which is in 1 second. Therefore 1 water pump is needed
per boiler. But you may have noticed the 3 leftover water. At a small scale
this ratio works, but at a larger scale you could reduce the pumps slightly
and be more efficient.

Oil Processing:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: LOOM
Description: Oil is quite a process, but when completed you get access to insane
power—great for late game. You will need multiple oil refineries to break oil
down into petrol. Heavy oil becomes light oil, light oil becomes petrol. Petrol
is used in petroleum engines for lots of power, and also for crafting plastic
bars—vital for red circuits.

Resource Zone Chances:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: RAW_IRON
Description: Iron zones are commonly found in cold biomes. But seismic charges
can create resource zones even in caves or unexpected biomes. Copper is common
in savannas and plains but can appear anywhere. Gold and redstone are only found
underground, but redstone can be extracted by surface drills. Coal is most common
in swamps, but forests have an okay chance too.
Premium Entry Only: false
Overdriving:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: OBSERVER
Description: You can overdrive movers by placing an overdriver facing
them. Up to 3 overdrivers will boost a mover to 4× speed. Other devices like
auto miners can also be overdriven for increased speed.

Logistic Robots!:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: CHEST
Description: Logistic robots require provider chests, requester chests, and a
roboport. Robots are stored in roboports and operate within the power grid.
Provider chests send items, requester chests pull items, and the robots do the
transferring automatically.
Premium Entry Only: false
Phase Belts:
Category: Advanced Mechanics
Material: QUARTZ_STAIRS
Description: Place a phaser facing a belt end, then another phaser facing the opposite
direction in line with it. Items will *enter* the first stair and *exit* the
second one using the belt in front. Great for creative transport setups.
