Protect your factory!

Utility Basics

There is a lot of devices that provide utility to them, these devices can be really useful for figuring out production issues, power shortages and can help with managing power.

Always make sure you have a Power Pylon placed nearby so your device can use power!

Utility Devices

This a list of all of the Defense devices in Minetorio.

Device
Description

Power Pylon

This creates a power grid in a set radius around the device. It can be upgraded to increase its connection range to other pylons - not other non pylon devices though.

Power Pylon Mk 2

This creates a power grid in a set radius around the device. It can be upgraded to increase its connection range to other pylons - not other non pylon devices though. This just has a further range then the base power pylon.

Power Substation

This device can be configured to have a larger device power range. This is great for a main base area, however the larger the area the more power this device will consume.

Battery

This provides power storage to the connected power grid. Having to many of these on one grid will add extra power draw. So try not to over due it!

Battery Monitor

This is a very important device to making efficient dirty power. This device lets you turn on and off devices at specific power levels. Instead of running boiler 24/7, instead with this device you can turn of the boiler when the battery is full. And turn it back on when the battery gets low.

Production Monitor

This device will show the production of items in the last second, minute and hour. This is great for figuring out if your overproducing or underproducing certain items. You can also view pollution production, liquid production and power production.

Blueprinter

This is essentially a player schematic device that allows players to make schematics and have it build the schematic block by block. Players make these into blueprint cards as well, so they can trade their blueprints or sell them etc.

Chunk Loader

This loads chunks in a configurable range. This is useful when used with devices that require the chunk to be loaded to work.

Power Transmitter

This device can transmit power to a Power Receiver, the further the distance the more power that is lost in its transport.

Power Receiver

This device can receive power from a power transmitter. It can also be used to select power from a power provider. Which will cost money to buy power from.

Power Provider

Used on economy servers to sell power to others using a power receiver. The placer can configure the cost of the electricity, there is also transmission fees which will be covered by the power receiver. So the position of the provider to the receiver does matter.

Power Breaker

This device will mirror its state to its connected devices. By placing a lever on it, you can turn on and off the device. Which will turn on or off all of its connected devices. Battery monitors also can turn this device on or off, which will do the same. This is very useful for making sure the most important part of your factory is running. While the not so important parts turn off when power draw on the grid is very high. The power breaker has a built in configurable power threshold which can turn the breaker off. It then has to be turned back on manually or via battery monitor.

Power Meter

This device can link to a specific device to track its power production or consumption. This is useful for trying to figure out exactly what a specific device has been pulling over a long period of time, as it will never clear until you clear its reading.

Redstone Emitter

This can provide power to redstone. This can connect to multiple redstone connections, the active power cost depends on the distance to its connections.
